Infection of Omicron variant confirmed in one more person

This information was given by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Sangeeta Kaushal Mishra at a regular press conference.

 Earlier, on December 6, health ministry officials said an Omicron variant had been found in a foreigner who had come to Nepal from South Africa and another person who had come in contact with him.

 Authorities are also investigating those who have been in contact with people who have been infected, officials said.

 According to Dr. Krishna Prasad Poudel, Chief of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control, this variant of coronavirus has been detected in three people in Nepal with the confirmation of the latest infection.

 Scientists have been saying that the Omicron variant spreads faster than other variants of the coronavirus.

 Currently, this variant has increased the number of infections in countries including the UK.
